In seeking to enhance and harmonize the EU’s market abuse regime, MAR introduces new operational, technology and regulatory requirements for firms operating in the European financial markets. In order to keep pace with changing financial markets, the regulation has been extended from the previous Market Abuse Directive (MAD).
